Designers dream of new applications for this emerging organic technology

WAC's brilliant chandelier uses OLED to create these transparent slivers of light.

More and more designers are being beguiled by the possibilities of OLED -- the organic LED. Brighter, more uniform, requiring no back lighting -- and thus ultrathin (albeit extremely pricey right now) the possibilities are endless. In May we ran a story on how WAC lighting introduced a new chandelier featuring this new technology.
